Youth Worker

We are looking for a Youth worker position based in Enfield, North London available to start ASAP.

The ideal candidate will be a passionate and dedicated individual with a desire to make a difference in the lives
of young people and who have a genuine desire to improve the quality-of-life for our community.

In this role you could:

  • Support and mentor young people including carers and people at risk of offending.
  • Run projects that focus on issues like health, bullying, crime or drugs.
  • Organise activities for young people.
  • Work with social workers, teachers, probation officers and the police.
  • Keep confidential records, look at budgets and apply for funding.

You'll need to:

  • Co-ordinate and manage the delivery of young person-based projects and programmes
  • Recruit, support and oversee a small team of community volunteers
  • Manage, monitor, and analyse expenditure against budgets
  • Attend evening sessions, meetings, and work school holidays

You'll have:

  • A youth work qualification, or equivalent, or previous experience of working with young people
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Be informed on current issues concerning young people
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Excellent communication skills

You will need to demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse client group and show that you have relevant experience and understanding of working within local communities.
