Magisters Education are currently looking for a Teaching Assistant to work at primary settings in Lewisham. Would you like the opportunity to develop your experience with young people in a school setting through working as a Teaching Assistant?

About the role:

The school are looking for bright and dynamic individuals who have an interest in potentially becoming teachers in the future but would first like to gain invaluable school experience through working as a teaching assistant. Magisters Education are currently looking to recruit individuals to work within the Lewisham area. You will be required to support the classroom teacher in all subjects and be committed to enhancing pupil's learning, assist in the preparation and the delivery of lessons, have the ability to identify pupils that need additional support, work as part of team and provide effective feedback to the Teacher.

Role Duties:

• To develop an understanding of the specific needs of pupils to be supported.
• To aid pupils to learn as effectively as possible in both group situations and individually.
• To aid children in developing independent learning skills
• To guide and assist the development of children social behaviour, attitudes, self-esteem and skills.
• To assist class teachers
• Support pupils during break and lunchtimes

The ideal applicant:
* A supportive and nurturing approach with strong classroom management
* Demonstrate a desire to research and find out more in order to improve their own practice
* A good understanding of the Primary curriculum.
* Flexibility and creativity and a strong commitment to teamwork
* Ability to manage pupils with challenging behaviour
* Patience and a sense of humour
* Good literacy and numeracy skills
