SEN Teaching Assistant

This is a full time teaching assistant role, the school are seeking someone to predominantly support children with ADHD with an ASAP start time. This school is located in Sevenoaks, with pupils ranging from age 5-19 years old. Here we try provide pupils with a structured, consistent routine environment with well-defined boundaries.

About the role:

  • Working closely with pupils of SEN predominantly with ADHD.
  • Working closely with staff to maintain and improve the social, emotional, physical and learning needs for pupils.
  • Focusing on communication, engagement and distraction techniques, to maximise pupils learning level.
  • Attend any out of class interventions with students.

What there looking for:

As a SEN teaching assistant you will need to:

  • Have a passion for working with children in education.
  • Build and maintain successful relationships with students and staff; treating them with respect and consideration.
  • Be confident and calm when managing challenging behaviour.
  • Hold the skill to communicate effectively with SEN students.
