We are working with a lovely, inclusive primary school in W9 who are seeking SEN Teaching Assistants to join their team from September. The roles will involve 1:1 or small group support for children in Reception or Year 1, most of whom have autism – some may be non-verbal.

This is a great opportunity to join a values-led school community that puts pupil wellbeing and tailored support at the centre of what they do.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 or small group support for children with ASD (including non-verbal pupils)
  • Help implement personalised learning plans and communication strategies
  • Support pupils in class and during transitions throughout the school day
  • Work collaboratively with class teachers, SENCO, and therapy teams
  • Create a calm, nurturing and inclusive learning environment

About You:

  • Experience working with children with autism is essential
  • Comfortable supporting non-verbal pupils and using visual or alternative communication methods (PECS, Makaton is a plus)
  • Patient, adaptable, and committed to supporting individual needs
  • Available full-time from September, 8:30am–3:30pm
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to apply)
