Magisters Education have recently partnered with a mainstream primary school in Barking and Dagenham. They are looking to appoint a SEN Teaching Assistant to work on a full time basis and start asap!

About the role

• The SEN Teaching Assistant role will be full-time Monday-Friday, 8.30am-3.30pm.
• Supporting in the Sunshine Room.
• Working 1:1 supporting KS1/KS2 children with SEMH or ASD.
• You will be working as part of a team of staff, liaising with the Room Leader and SENCO.
• Assist pupils to access the curriculum and participate fully in school activities.
• Provide support for pupils with challenging behaviour, taking account of support plans and risk assessments under supervision of class teacher.
• Participate in planning and evaluation of room activities with room leaderand provide ongoing feedback to SENCO on pupil progress.
• Support pupils in their social development and emotional well-being.

Job requirements

• Previous child-centred SEN experience with the primary age range- desirable.
• Understand how to work with pupils and build positive relationships with various pupils quickly and efficiently
• Love of education and the desire to make a positive impact on the lives of others
• Confident, proactive and enthusiastic person
• Good behaviour management skills
