SEMH Teaching Assistant

Magisters Education are currently working with an SEMH school in Dover, and they are looking for a confident and enthusiastic SEMH Teaching Assistant who is able to commit to a full time, long term position starting asap. You will have experience in dealing with challenging behaviour and perhaps have already worked in a school environment or as a youth worker, or you have relevant personal experience. The school caters for young students with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties.

This role is School based, however they are looking for someone with a background in:

• Inclusion
• Behaviour Support
• Supporting Special Needs
• Working with students outside the classroom and trying to re integrate them into the classroom
• Leading an inclusion space

Key skills and experience needed:

• An understanding of mental health and behaviour issues
• Strong Behaviour management techniques.
• Previous support work within a school or other child related experience.
• Professional manor.
• Enthusiasm and friendly approach.
• Experience or knowledge within special educational needs.
