If so, then an Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ School are looking for a highly motivated SEN Learning Support Assistant like YOU!

The Special Needs School is currently looking for Learning Support Assistants to support students aged from 3 – 19 across their Primary and Secondary sites.

This role is suited to Learning Support Assistants who are creative in their approach to working with both children and young people who have a range of complex Special Educational Needs. This includes Autism, Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties, Severe Learning Difficulties and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.

As an SEN Learning Support Assistant, you should be able to:

• Use PECS and Makaton to support communication
• Effectively support students 1:1 or in small groups
• Encourage student engagement through a range of strategies and resources including highly motivating equipment and running commentary
• Support the Class Teacher in managing behaviour and adjusting lesson plans/activities when and if required
• Provide feedback to Class Teachers, support staff, parents and other professionals
• Use own initiative
• Provide personal care
• Experience working with SEN students

It is preferred but not essential that Learning Support Assistants have Manual Handling, Autism Awareness, Hoisting and Team Teach training.
