Teaching Assistant

Magisters Education have a fantastic opportunity for a Teaching Assistant role at a Primary School based in Orpington, looking to start ASAP.

You will be working alongside the class teacher to provide a high standard of support and will need to be able to plan, deliver and monitor work to meet the needs of their Education.

Previous Primary School Teaching Assistant experience would help, but is not essential. So long as you are passionate about education, this school in Orpington would love to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the teacher in the preparation of classroom activities and lesson plans.
• Monitor and record pupil progress and report back to the teacher.
• Create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Assist with classroom management and behaviour management.

Requirements:

• Be able to support the children in every subject area, especially core subjects; Maths, English and Science.
• Empathy and understanding of the students learning abilities.
• Must be available to start work immediately.
• Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS on the update service.
• Experience using PECS, Makaton and sensory equipment would be advantageous.
• Must be able to understand how to work with pupils and build positive relationships with various pupils quickly and efficiently.
• Have a love for education and the desire to make a positive impact on the lives of others.
