SEMH Teaching Assistant:

Are you an SEMH Teaching Assistant looking for a new role in Islington?

Magisters Education are working alongside an all-through SEMH school to appoint an enthusiastic SEMH Teaching Assistant. The successful candidate will be working within the secondary school, supporting SEMH students within a classroom environment both on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.

Roles and Responsibilities as an SEMH Teaching Assistant:

  • Supporting students with SEMH needs in the classroom, during breaks, and other school activities.
  • Implementing strategies to help students manage their behaviour and emotions.
  • Collaborating with teachers, SENCO, and other professionals to develop individual education plans and behaviour management plans for students with SEMH needs.
  • Supporting students with SEMH needs to improve their academic progress.
  • Providing pastoral care and emotional support to students as needed.
  • Building positive relationships with students, parents, and carers.
  • Maintaining accurate records of student progress behaviour, and attendance.

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience working with students with SEMH needs (desirable).
  • A commitment to providing the best possible care and support to students with SEMH needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A willingness to work as part of a team and collaborate with other professionals.
  • A current DBS check.

The position offers a daily rate of £70 to £90, depending on experience and qualifications. We also provide ongoing training and development opportunities to help you enhance your skills and knowledge in this field.
