Learning Support Assistant - Islington:

The role:

We are currently seeking a motivated and passionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team in a school based in Islington. The successful candidate will work alongside the teaching staff to support students with a range of needs, including special educational needs, behavioural issues, and those who require additional support to access the curriculum

• Work with individual students and small groups to support their learning in a range of subjects.
• Assist in the planning and delivery of lessons, including preparing resources and materials.
• Provide support for students with special educational needs and disabilities.
• Work with teachers to monitor student progress and identify areas for further support.
• Help to manage student behaviour in and out of the classroom.
• Provide emotional support to students as required.
• Attend training and professional development sessions as required.

Requirements as a Learning Support Assistant:

• Experience in working with young people in a school or similar environment.
• An understanding of the challenges faced by students with special educational needs and disabilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, empathy, and resilience.
• The ability to work as part of a team.
• Flexibility and adaptability.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
• Enhanced DBS Child & Adult on update service, or happy to apply for one.
