An Ofsted rated ‘Good’ Primary School are looking for pro-active, engaging and hardworking Learning Support Assistants to work alongside their pupils aged 3 – 11 years old.

The ideal Learning Support Assistant will be confident in facilitating the learning and development of students with complex Special Educational Needs including Severe and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties and Autism.

As an LSA, you will be required to:

  • Prepare lesson resources
  • Support children 1:1 or in small groups
  • Use of visual cues such as PECS, visual timetables and Makaton
  • Encourage communication, engagement in lessons and independence
  • Promote children’s self-concept and confidence
  • Work effectively with other support staff and Class Teachers
  • Provide personal care
  • Recognise signs of distress and offer reassurance
  • Use running commentary to keep pupils on task
  • Ability to use own initiative and work well under pressure

It is preferred but not essential that Learning Support Assistants have Autism Awareness and Team Teach training.
