NQT Science Teacher (Biology or Chemistry) – Merton

Magisters Education are working with a Secondary school that are rated as ‘Good’ by Ofsted in the Merton area who are looking for an NQT Science Teacher (Biology and or Chemistry specialism) to work with KS3-5 for September 2021!

The School

The school you will be working with a part of a larger federation of schools and joining offers you excellent opportunities for progression for the future as you will have access to internal opportunities across their schools. For your first year as an NQT you will be assigned an experienced teacher who will support you throughout your NQT year and will offer structured guidance and feedback to ensure you are able to develop successfully throughout your first year in teaching. The department are excellently resourced with labs and classes that were refurbished a couple of years ago, so have modern facilities and resources so you can create exciting lessons. The school have structured standardised CPD programmes that have been shown to improve development of teachers, and you will have access to continuous training. The department have a number of extracurricular clubs that you can join and eventually lead, so if you are passionate about your subject, you can be involved from the start of your time at the school. The school also has excellent transport links with tube and bus stations located nearby. They also have onsite parking you can utilise if you drive.

The Role

This role will see you teaching across KS3-5 and the school are looking for either a Biology or Chemistry specialist. If you can teach both you can choose to work with one or both subjects. This role is full time, and you will be working full time Monday to Friday. You will receive continuous support throughout the year and will have a dedicated NQT trainer who will offer guidance and support. You will have weekly 1 to 1 meetings to discuss your progress and will have the chance to feedback in areas you feel you need additional support.

Experience/Job Requirements

• You will be completing your PGCE for the summer of 2021 or 2020
• If you are an experienced teacher your application can still be considered for this position
• You will be an enthusiastic and passionate teacher who aims to teach outstanding lessons and will work with the school to maximise your potential
• You will be available to begin for September 2021
