NQT History Teacher – Harrow

Magisters Education are working with a leading Secondary Independent School in the Harrow area who are looking for an NQT History Teacher to work with KS3-5 for September 2021!

The School

The school are a leading independent school in London who achieve fantastic results year on year at both GCSE and A-Level across all departments. Standards in the school are excellent and behaviour as a result is excellent. Classes are also significantly smaller than the average school, allowing you to give more individual focus to all of your students to ensure they get the best support in their classes. The school offer a structured NQT programme and for your first year as an NQT you will be assigned an experienced teacher who will support you throughout your NQT year and will offer structured guidance and feedback to ensure you are able to develop successfully throughout your first year in teaching. The school are located close to a range of bus routes and have onsite parking if you are driving.

The Role

The department are highly successful having achieved year on year significantly above the national average. You will have access to modern classrooms and any resources you require to teach excellent lessons. The school often arrange exciting trips across the UK and abroad to visit historical sites and you will have the chance to arrange exciting trips for your students to enhance their learning and visually explore historical sites. The department are highly organised and have a head of department who has been with the school for a number of years, so you will have access to a well structured department at the school. You will receive continuous support throughout the year and will have a dedicated NQT trainer who will offer guidance and support. You will have weekly 1 to 1 meetings to discuss your progress and will have the chance to feedback in areas you feel you need additional support.

Experience/Job Requirements

• You will be completing your PGCE for the summer of 2021 or 2020
• If you are an experienced teacher your application can still be considered for this position
• You will be an enthusiastic and passionate teacher who aims to teach outstanding lessons and will work with the school to maximise your potential
• You will be available to begin for September 2021
