Magisters Education are working with a leading secondary school that is rated as ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted in the Enfield area who are looking for a recent graduate to join as a Learning Support Assistant/Teaching Assistant for September 2021!

The School

The school are an Outstanding Ofsted rated Secondary School with a strong academic record in both GCSEs and A-Levels. The school have a well-run team of support staff for pupils with SEN needs and a highly experienced Special Educational Needs Co-Ordinator (SENCO) who has been with the school for a number of years who has a strong understanding of how to support a TA to reach their full potential. The school offers a friendly family feel work environment, where staff are given opportunities to develop and grow, so you can step into this role knowing you will be fully supported during your time at the school.

The Role

This role is an exciting opportunity to support pupils in the school in small groups who have special needs (SEN). You will be supporting small groups of children with varying special needs. These will generally be Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). You do not need prior experience as this role is targeted at recent graduates and you will receive onsite training, so you can confidently support the needs of the child you are supporting. You will support their learning in class, support them throughout the day, give them support both emotionally and academically, and help them to develop their confidence and overcome challenges within school.

Experience Required

• At least a 2:1 grade within your degree
• You will have graduated within the last 2 years of have prior experience in this role
• You will be willing to undergo safeguarding training and will be willing to research safeguarding young people if you have not had prior training
• You will be able to commit to at least 1 academic year (September to July) working with the child and supporting their learning
• You will be a friendly, patient, and supportive graduate with a passion for supporting young people
