Magisters Education named on the GCA RM6376 Supply Teachers and Education Recruitment Framework

We are delighted to share that Magisters Education have been officially named as a supplier on the Government Commercial Agency (GCA) RM6376 Supply Teachers and Education Recruitment framework.

This is a significant milestone for us, and we wanted to take the time to explain exactly what this means for the schools and trusts we work with, and for those who may be looking to partner with us for the very first time.

What is the GCA RM6376 Framework?

The Government Commercial Agency, formerly known as the Crown Commercial Service (CCS), is the UK's largest public procurement organisation, helping schools and public sector bodies access goods and services through fully compliant, government-approved routes.

The RM6376 Supply Teachers and Education Recruitment framework is the government's dedicated procurement vehicle for schools, academies, and multi-academy trusts looking to engage supply teachers and education support staff. Being listed on this framework means that schools can book staff through Magisters Education with complete confidence that the process meets all government procurement requirements with transparent pricing, robust safeguarding protocols, and thorough due diligence built in from the outset.

Why does this matter?

Until now, schools and academies have had the freedom to use whichever staffing provider they choose. That is changing.

From September 2026, single and multi-academy trusts will be required to procure their supply teaching and education support staff through an approved framework agreement. The GCA RM6376 framework has been specifically established to meet this compliance requirement. In short, if you are an academy trust, you will need to ensure any staffing provider you work with is on the framework, and Magisters Education is.

For maintained schools and local authority settings, use of the framework remains optional, but the benefits of choosing a framework-listed provider are considerable regardless.

What does being on the framework mean for schools?

To be awarded a place on the framework, providers must hold either ASPSco or REC accreditation and successfully pass the government's rigorous tender process. Out of the many agencies operating in the education recruitment sector, only 115 companies have been named on the framework and Magisters Education is one of them.

For school leaders and business managers, working with a framework supplier means:

  • A fully compliant procurement route. Schools can engage our services without the need for lengthy individual procurement exercises, saving time and reducing administrative burden.
  • Transparent, capped pricing. The framework includes agreed fee structures, giving schools clear visibility over costs and protecting budgets from unexpected charges.
  • Robust safeguarding standards. All framework suppliers are required to meet stringent vetting and safeguarding requirements, fully aligned with the Department for Education's Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSiE) guidance. Every candidate we place is vetted to these standards as standard practice.
  • Confidence in workforce planning. School leaders can make staffing decisions knowing that every placement has passed through a consistent, government-approved quality framework.

What does this means for the wider education sector?

The introduction of the framework mandate for academy trusts reflects a positive shift across the education sector. One that will prioritise both value for money and the safety of pupils and staff alike. By channelling procurement through a smaller, approved group of providers, the framework creates a better deal for schools on price while raising the bar on compliance and safeguarding across the board.

It is worth noting that many schools may currently work with agencies that are not on the framework. If you are an academy trust, now is the time to review your existing staffing arrangements and ensure you are ready for the September deadline.
